We NEED You!
The Hinsdale Historical Society is a volunteer organization, and our volunteers are crucial to the ongoing work of the Society. There are numerous volunteer opportunties within the Society. From one-time small projects to leadership opportunities, there truly is something for everyone.
Society Volunteer Needs
We are currently looking for volunteers to:
-join our various Board Committees with the potential opportunity to join the Board of Trustees
-present programs and/or tours to schools and other groups
-take photographs of our programs and events
Volunteer Opportunities at the Hinsdale History Museum
We are currently looking for volunteers to:
-greet visitors during museum open hours
-serve as docents to lead tours of the museum
-help staff with the documentation, storage, record keeping and exhibition of the museum's extensive artifact collection which includes fine art, decorative arts, furniture, historic clothing and textiles
-assist with a variety of administrative items
Volunteer Opportunities at the Archives and Research Library
We are currently looking for volunteers to:
-assist patrons in conducting local history research
-perform research for patrons who cannot access the archives
-help organize and maintain the archives' extensive collection
